K. Bothwell Inc. was founded in Omaha, Nebraska in 2008 with the principal: "In America, with all the medical improvements, isn't it about time the patient gown be improved?"

At the age of 18 Karen began a career in healthcare as a phlebotomist at Creighton University. Karen worked for 5 years as a Cardiac Sonographer and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from Nebraska Methodist college in 2002. After 12 years of cardiac sonography experience Karen could empathize with the patients who dreaded wearing a standard patient gown that made them feel nervous and exposed, embarrassed and uncomfortable.

K. Bothwell Inc. is currently developing more products for sonographers to improve their diagnostic testing performance during exams.
